Being good with money
Today we had a woman from ASB bank. Her name is Anina. She taught us about saving money. There were 5 teams and 4 children in each of them, we had $2000 given to us to start with. I was with Heather, Havea and Mya. Our group leader was Heather because she was the most responsible on there. We played a game about going to Fiji my home country. We had 3 options every time we did something. Mya was our dealer. And me and Havea were just deciding what to pick from those three options. At the ending we had a total of 700$ left.we came last! At the starting the woman said to put your hands together. I had my left thumb over my right thumb. And she said I will be bad in making decisions. And I kind of am.

Omaru creek - Te Taiao o Tāmaki
Omaru Creek is in Glen Innes and it was in a bad condition. The problem was, the nearby residents were spilling fat and flushing baby wipes. Most people will think nothing happens but the baby wipe cause every rubbish to build up and it forms into a junk pile so that's how a pipe gets blocked. The maintenance crew went for a look at the creek, they found it was rubbish in there and dirty water. So they decided to clean it up.
We can help by not pouring fat into our drains. And we need to stop putting rubbish in the drains outside because the drains are there for a reason and the reason is’t for putting rubbish in.The Omaru Creek isn’t looking like a normal creek so my school will be going to clean up about 20m of the creek.
When we went to the creek to take points we found bushes in the middle of the creek. And rubbish like a fly spray, paper and plastic wrappings.

The 3 keywords for this year are PACE, ACCELERATION and CONSOLIDATION. For the first basic facts assessment I got 37/40 in stage 7. and in week 3 I got 22/40 in stage 8 and I think I need to step up the pace. For the next basic facts I hope to get 30 / 40. I will consolidate in my Place value. And I need to improve my factors and multiples.
Water Colour Painting
This was my first time doing watercolor art. I made a mountain that had a hut on it. It more looked like a computer or a fire place. It doesn't matter because this was my first effort. You should try this too. All you need is: Water, Paint, Paintbrush and paper.
