Drawing circles

Today for our maths lesson we drew circles. Not any circles we drew concentric circles with a compass. For me it was really difficult because left hand was hard to use. After drawing 6 circles we measured the length of the gap. Its actually called radii. I hope I never do this again!!

Today we did a new type of writing. It was called round robin writing. We had to get in groups of 3 and each of the groups got given a picture and a paper. We had to plan for 3 minutes and write for 5 minutes. We had to write a paragraph and then pass it on to the next group. We received the picture and a paper from the group behind us and we had to continue the story. I think this type of writing was fun and it was a good practice for our writing.

Today I did this maths crossword. I used the clues to work out what word it was. I got all of it right in five minutes and fourteen seconds. Some of the words were really hard to figure out but some were really easy. Can you beat my time?

E-asttle maths strand Woo Hoo

On Wednesday we sat a e-asttle maths strand test. I was very nervous because I guessed the last 4 because I was running out of time I had less then 14 seconds to answer 4 questions. Somehow I got a 4a and I think I answered most of the ones at the starting correct. Thats how I got a 4a. I am very happy of my results!

Vodafone Warriors

Today we went to the hall to see 2 players from Vodafone Warriors and some other guy. We had 4 topics. In those topics we could win stuff such as a water bottle, rugby ball and a warriors bag.  We had a fun time!

Tongan Language week

it is Tongan language this week. In our school the most amount of children from one culture is Tongan. Counting in Tongan is very hard for me because I'm not a Tongan. I have been learning to count in Tongan with our teacher. I can count 1 to 10 now. Sike!

Science Expo

Today my classroom went to the hall to look at wonderful simple machines. I was a bit muddy so I had to clean myself and then come. I saw a variety of toys. Such as, wells, flickers, tricycles, cars, pulleys and the best one that I saw was a homemade foosball game!

My way to heaven

Maths: I had accelerated in term 2 then in term 3 my results went back to 4b in maths. The reasons of me not accelerating is because the problems are getting much harder. Previously most of the questions were level 4 in the level 4-5 but now my teacher has looked for harder questions and the number of level 5 questions has raised. By the end of the year I want to get 4a or a 5. I will have to pay attention the the teacher and practice more harder questions.

Reading: I have accelerated from a 4b to a 4a. I have maintained 4a from term 2 and i'm really happy. I have achieved a 4a because I have done more independent activities. I will like to have a 5 at the end of the year. I need to do more skimming and scanning.

Writing: I have maintained 4b from term 1 but in term 3 I got a 3p. I still need a better understanding of a explanation. I would like to get a 4 by the end of year. Next term I will need to work harder on is to have a better choice of words. I also need to check if my sentence make sense.

I think i'm not happy in all of my results even reading!
