New Zealand Pupils below average in maths

New Zealand Is well below in maths. And I think we should be working as hard as we can in maths. Because maths Is needed nearly in every job. New Zealand ranks below England, Ireland, USA and australia.  So children you need to work hard so we beat australia and the other countries.
Good Luck New Zealand!

Kia ora Zain,

I'm Mark, a teacher from the summer learning journey you signed up for. I know you haven't started yet and that's cool, but I couldn't help but read this blog of yours! You might not know but I am a teacher in Mangere, and it made me really happy to read that you are concerned that as a country we a falling behind the world in maths.

I really love maths (and am still learning, myself) and hope to use the most modern ways of understanding and learning it to my students. I believe in setting students up for success and it is so important that as you learn maths and to challenge yourselves with it. Maths is really good for developing those big brains all students have, and even if you might not use some of it so much as an adult, by practicing and learning it now makes you all so much more intelligent, plus you'd be surprised how many top jobs like engineers, scientists, architects, accountants, and builders, use maths daily.

Anyway I just wanted to say that. It would be really cool to see you apply that depth of thought to our summer learning journey over the holidays.

Kia Kaha,

Mark
